This painting is somewhat of a personal experience, Five years ago my best friend from childhood passed away from cancer, at the memorial his sister dangled a set of keys and said, “Alan left you the Harley”. Now i was never a Harley guy, I have always liked motorcycles and had owned Triumphs and and a few Hondas over the years. The cycle I am referring to is the front bike in this painting, a classic 1999 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Standard. Myself and a couple of biker buddies like to ride Chuckanut Drive to Edison for some bites and a few beers at the Longhorn Saloon, then a ride out Prairie Road behind Mount Blanchard to Highway 9 then hang a left to Mount Baker Highway. This pullout off Highway 9 is usually as far as we get before a much needed pit stop. I love the sculptural beauty of a classic motorcycle and have completed several paintings where they are the main subject. The middle bike I believe is a radically customized 2007 Harley Heritage and the end bike is an early 80’s Harley Shovelhead. The three of us are over the wall preparing for a fast ride home, the raven on the left of my bike represents my buddy Roach, he’s always with me as I’m riding down the road.

Stunning in its realism!
