One of the cool things about being an Artist is chronicling the moments and individuals in your life. These include our critter companions. I have always had dogs and cats throughout my life, dogs especially are the most steadfast, loyal and loving relationships I have experienced, best trail buddies ever. I love how our pets live in the moment, and the unbounded joy dogs display when on the trail. No matter how bad my day was, that enthusiasm and happiness was contagious and always made me feel better. The times when on the couch reading or writing and the cat would come curl up beside and purr.

We had the good fortune of two long term wonderful critter companions, Olive and Sid, 15 and 17 respectively. We lost them both this year to the ravages of old age; Olive in September and Sid just a couple of days ago. They sure leave a big empty space when they go. Our furry friends make great studies for the Artist as they share our lives and experiences. Attached are more paintings I’ve made over the years, Nancy and I miss them.
